Nature and Botanics in Lino Cut with Sue Rowland
Spend a lovely day with Sue learning the art of lino cutting with a botanical/wildlife theme. To start the day you will learn various mark making and texture techniques on a small section of lino to become familiar with the tools involved. Students will then design or select their image from references they have bought or using a series of suggested templates/ resources that Sue brings along too, and then learn how to transfer this onto the lino block. The next stage is to cut the design to leave a relief surface which can be carefully inked up in various colours to create several prints, using a hand burnishing technique. You will be working on an A4 size piece of specialist lino and be able to take home your original lino cut plate and prints at the end of the day.
